The core activities will cover all the day to day statutory accounting, including reporting, payroll / partnership drawings, tax, corporate finance, and reporting between the various entities in the UK and overseas. The role will have a strong focus on accounting, requiring a deep technical knowledge of accounting in a financial services company. The Group Head of Consolidation & Reporting will also be responsible for leading projects on various tax matters (including VAT, transfer pricing and patent box), as well as identifying opportunities to optimise the tax position, working closely with the CFO, tax auditors, and Head of Accounting & Tax based remotely. Furthermore, the successful Candidate will need to prepare quarterly and annual reports to internal stakeholders, in addition to any statutory annual reporting of financial statements to external stakeholders. In overseeing the scope of the finance function, the role is responsible for leading a team of financial accounting professionals, working closely with the CFO, key stakeholders, and direct members of the accounting function based remotely to build an effective and agile international finance team. Into the future, it is expected that the candidate will effectively "grow into the role" as the organisation expands and becomes ever more complex, which may lead to an IPO within 24 months. KEY

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The key responsibilities for the role of Group Head of Consolidation & Reporting will broadly comprise of six main sections: Accounting: Attracting, recruiting, and overseeing all accounting functions, working in alignment with other leaders within the Finance and Accounting team Researching complex accounting transactions and determining proper accounting treatment, in co-ordination with external auditors Creating and implementing required accounting policies, procedure, and controls to prepare the company for a potential IPO within 18-24 months Reporting: Assisting with monthly/quarterly and annual financial reporting - drafting and reviewing documents shared with the Exec Team and Board of Directors and to be filed with Companies House, ensuring quality and adhering to strict timelines The compliance and reporting aspects of capital activity, as the company looks towards a potential IPO Drafting and filing the Annual Report Controlling: Reviewing all documentation and contracts, in order to develop and improve internal controls Managing transaction accounting, internal controls, the monthly closing process, and other financial controls Management: Overseeing General Ledger functions; assuring accuracy, timelines, and conformity with professional accounting standards and best practice, in accordance with IFRS Overseeing tax compliance and strategy, as well as capital assets Leading with a passion for developing the accounting team members, commitment to continuous professional development and training Managing a remote team, based overseas Relationship Management: Partnering with the CFO and external auditors to determine accounting and tax implications for all material business decisions Acting as a liaison to external audit firms, while owning primary responsibility for the company's views on technical accounting matters Partnering with the CRO, Head of Compliance, and Head of Internal Control to monitor and address potential risks Company Performance: Regularly examining financial statements for accuracy, and contributing to the Senior Leadership Team and Board to improve overall company performance Keeping abreast with industry changes and current tax / accounting laws, and implementing new accounting rules, as required, to keep the company up to date KEY SELECTION CRITERIA: 5 years' experience of running an accounting function for an international business Proven ability in preparing statutory accounts under IFRS, US GAAP or any other international accounting standards (ideally BE GAAP) Successful track record in managing and motivating a team across multiple jurisdictions while maintaining the momentum of change, including reporting to and supporting the Audit Committee Will thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly-growing complex organisation, with dynamic organisational structures An effective communicator with the ability to build relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders, such as auditors, regulators, and bankers Capable of managing the necessary accounting policies and controls to prepare for a potential IPO within 18-24 months
