Mandarin-speaking Credit Analyst, Corporate Banking A leading Asian bank is seeking a Mandarin-speaking Credit Analyst to join their City of London office to assist the Corporate Banking Department achieve departmental objectives through the provision of comprehensive credit application and business focused administrative support, and monitoring credit and exposure risk of the portfolio. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years' experience in credit analysis. Unfortunately, the company will not sponsor visa for this role LOCATION : City of London SALARY : £40K - 55K START : ASAP TYPE : Permanent, Full Time CORE DUTIES:
• Assist relationship support work including the preparation of credit applications and credit ratings for Corporate Banking Department
• Assist collecting information for new clients in the KYC/KYB stage
• Assist client annual review reports
• To assist, monitor and review facilities and loans after drawdown including the maintenance of efficient daily procedures to monitor covenant checks, timely reviews, waivers, compliance and legal issues
• Attending meetings and undertake follow up work including writing call reports
• Monitoring credit portfolio on a continuous basis for changes in credit quality due to counterparty specific and general market related issues, recommending suitable actions
• Maintaining a keen interest and awareness of market trends in international business including key trends and events in the UK and international credit markets
• Assist in establishing and maintaining credit risk management controls, systems and procedures that meet the requirements of the Bank, the regulators and external auditors
• Monitor adherence to approved credit limits and to ensure that Head of Corporate Banking are informed of all material excesses on the same working day as identified
• Assist with the review and development of credit risk related policies and procedures
• Read and understand the Risk Management & Compliance framework (and the policies referenced therein) that are applicable to their work and ensure that their work is carried out in full accordance with those policies and procedures and with a high degree of professionalism and integrity
• Attention to requirements on individual members of staff laid out in the Joint Compliance Manual, Joint Conduct Risk Policy, Joint Conflicts Management Policy, the Joint Anti-Bribery & Corruption Policy and the UK Staff Handbook
• Ensure familiar with the appropriate documented procedures applicable to work, including End-to-End Process Maps
• Reporting and escalating material risk events, including conduct risk events and conflicts of interest, or losses to the Head of Department
• Where applicable, maintaining careful vigilance over the credit portfolio and carry out regular assessment of asset credit quality in accordance with the Joint Credit manual, and ensuring they assist if required in ensuring that accounts are opened and maintained in accordance with the Joint Anti-Money Laundering Policy
• Ensuring familiar with departments' detailed BCM plan
• Working with RM's (if required) to assist in ensuring transactions arranged in the Department are in accordance with the Joint Tax Risk Policy and Joint Booking Policy, and are documented in accordance with the Joint Legal Policy and any applicable departmental procedures
• Ensuring that manage IT systems and data, particularly personal data, in accordance with the Joint IT Security Policy and the Joint Data Protection Policy and any applicable departmental procedures
• Ensuring the timely completion of training required by the Bank IDEAL CANDIDATE:
• Totally fluent in Mandarin (both spoken and written) with business level English
• 5 years' experience as a Credit Analyst
• Educated to degree and/or appropriate professional qualification level
• Strong experience in analysing credit proposals in various industry sectors and for limit amounts above USD 50mn
• Strong understanding of financial aspects of loan markets
• Good understanding of whole banking products
• Experience in service oriented and customer focused role in financial services sector
• Demonstrate understanding of the international regulatory environment for the selected products and markets
• Experience in cash flow modelling would be an advantage
• Sound and proven analytical, credit and risk skills
• Proactive, self-motivated and well-organised; good communication skills; strong work ethic and team spirit
