An outstanding new opportunity has arisen for a bright, capable and articulate finance professional to join a global company in the role of Assistant Financial Controller. Reporting to the Programme Director, you will assist in all aspects of reporting for the Programme Area This includes all reporting, budgeting and forecasting requirements, as well as offering support to other plants on all financial matters. Key Requirements: The successful candidate will ideally be actively studying for a recognised Accounting professional qualification having successfully attained the Operational Level/AAT Level 4 Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data effectively Minimum two years accounting experience within manufacturing sector, preferably automotive. Aptitude - Key abilities to be demonstrated that cannot be seen through qualifications and / or experience. Good communication skills with the ability to deliver information in a concise manner. A proactive approach to change with an ability to develop subordinates. Ability to challenge, train and educate work colleges in a constructive manner regarding all financial matters. Tacit Knowledge / Experience. Describe any knowledge or understanding that is required for the role that is not easily learned through a formal training course. A high level of experience and knowledge of accounting Experience of working with KPIs and developing internal performance measurement tools - Both financial and nonfinancial Ability to work to meet strict deadlines and exceed under pressure Experience of auditing processes and procedures Behaviours important to the role. Accuracy in all areas and reports with an ability to analyse, interpret & present data. Excellent inter-personal skills and relationship building, able to constructively challenge people within non-financial departments. Tenacity, drive and an ability to work under pressure to achieve demanding deadlines. A positive demeanour with a keen interest in developing staff. Ability to train and educate non financial work colleagues in a constructive manner regarding financial matters Key Tasks / Responsibilities; Completion and analysis of the programme capex and tooling reports Prepare detailed files for all budget and business plan submissions Assist in the completion of the month end accounting pack Assist the programme team in GPCS & PSR reporting Assist in the preparation of the annual audit pack Work closely with the Programme Managers and product development teams to control capital investment and tooling transactions and costs Control of journal entries and reconciliations Assist in the creation of new parts to verify BOMs and costs.
