A locally renowned family run SME have appointed Dot Recruit in their search for an experienced Assistant Accountant. This business have been established for over 50 years in East Lancashire and boast a reliable and long standing Accounts team. Working closely with the Company Accountant you will assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts which due to the nature of the business, can be quite complex. As Assistant Accountant you will calculate stock journals, post nominal transactions and complete large reconciliations. You will also reconcile intercompany account balances and prepare accrual and prepayment calculations. In addition to these duties, there will be various projects that the Accounts team will take responsibility for which will be on an ad-hoc basis. Therefore the successful candidate will have a proactive and flexible approach to work in order to facilitate the varied tasks that comes with working in a small team. My client requires previous exposure to the management accounts and an individual who is self-motivated to make a valid contribution to team work. Due to much of the work being spreadsheet based, strong excel skills are required, in particular use of Pivot Table and VLOOKUP functions.
