We are working with a fast paced and reputable PLC looking for a bright and highly motivated individual to join the financial reporting team as Group Financial Accountant The Group Financial Accountant will play a key role in the interim and year end consolidation process and external financial reporting, you will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a strong technical background. The job - Interim and annual consolidation - support with preparation of the group consolidation, including recording of journals, management of the intercompany reconciliation process and preparation of working papers - External financial reporting - direct involvement in the preparation of the interim results announcement and the Annual Report and Accounts - Group accounting policies - liaison with operating companies across the group to ensure compliance with group accounting policies and to ensure effective roll out of changes to policies - Key point of contact for the external auditors - preparation of supporting working papers, discussion with the auditors and monitoring of group deliverables - Technical input - keep up to date with IFRS developments and support the Group Financial Reporting team in the implementation of new accounting standards and other financial reporting projects - Statutory accounts preparation - preparation of statutory accounts for subsidiary entities The role holder should have experience of producing monthly reports to deadlines and a good working knowledge of financial accounting. You will be a confident self-starter and be able to work with minimum supervision. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build relationships internally and externally, you will also need: - The ability to plan, prioritise and work under pressure to meet tough deadlines, with high attention to detail - The ability to communicate complex and technical points clearly both verbally and in writing - Excellent skills in MS office products including Excel, PowerPoint and Word - Creative approach to problem-solving - Good decision-making ability - The ability to adapt to changing priorities and deal with ambiguity - A commitment to high personal and professional standards - To be personally well organised - To be a team player For more information please contact Faith Collins Sewell Wallis acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
