KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Duties include, but are not limited to: Own and maintain a full pricing database for all categories Manage all types of pricing and pricing improvement activity and supporting analysis in support of the retention, simplification or improvement of existing business Develop and improve the effectiveness of pricing calculators, rate cards, price curves and deliver benchmarking wherever beneficial Gather, manipulate and analyse information regarding supplier spend, supply history to develop, recommend and create pricing strategies to improve competitiveness and maximize profitability Monitor and co-ordinate the flow of work in to the pricing resources, supporting the Heads of Category in balancing workload, developing specialism and generally having a progressive approach to the management of pricing. Generally support the Head of Category and Head of Supply Management on all aspects of pricing and price improvement work as may be required Act as a main point of entry for all non-transactional/operational pricing opportunities Support new business opportunities through the delivery of pricing and provision of advice on commercial model suitability that is in line with the bid strategy. Support the stress testing of commercial models ahead of deal signature and implementation Analyse cost information to advise on bid strategy and approaches for responding to (prospective) client RFI and RFQ activity Drive, develop and implement innovative pricing, contractual solutions and a full range pricing tools to support the needs of Procurement and Client Services / Operations Monitor pricing performance, incl. loss reporting, as it relates to existing client contracts and commercial models, challenging working practices (incl. models chosen), recommending and driving actions to improve contract profitability whilst complying with contractual / commercial requirements Set out the definitions of good practice, overseeing adherence to those principles and drive a 'share and reapply' to commercial approaches Work with team leaders and senior managers to drive up commerciality across the client servicing operation WHAT YOU'LL BRING To be successful in this role, you should have: Pricing Management experience gained within a blue chip/professional environment A good understanding and appreciation of professional purchasing and pricing management practices Previous experience of working across a widely dispersed customer/stakeholder base Previous experience of working with international suppliers would be an advantage Previous experience of manipulating and analysing numerical data Experience working in a service-oriented organization with demanding customers Product knowledge in sector would be a strong advantage Proven track record of delivering cost reduction/supplier improvement projects on-time and within budget Mastery of Excel spread sheets (including pivot tables and charts) and a high level of PowerPoint skills Experience working with web based sourcing/pricing tools The ability to make independent decisions that are well thought through The flexibility and ability to deliver pragmatic solutions which work on the ground without compromising global guidelines Influence and the ability to drive behaviour changes from suppliers and other stakeholders The ability to collate, evaluate, manipulate and draw conclusions from data, using this information to formulate strategies as appropriate Strong customer focus and service skills Assertiveness with the ability to challenge and push back when appropriate, whilst maintaining a professional attitude
