I am currently recruiting for a Payroll Assistant to join a team based within Warwick. This will be working closely with the Payroll Manager and will include the following day to day tasks:
• Assist with processing starters & leavers, SSP, SMP and attachment of earnings
• Resolving payroll queries
• Assist with requests for information from the Inland Revenue, Benefits Agency, National Statistics Office, and Banks/Building Societies
• Assist with month-end and year-end reporting
• Ensure timely payment of PAYE/NI, pension and medical insurance schemes
• Ensure payroll is processed in an accurate, compliant and timely manner
• Assist in the preparation of payroll related documents
• Assist with compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements
• Compile data from payroll sources as required including employee data schedules relating to TUPE transfers
• Prepare relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports
• Assist with the accurate processing of staff appointments, transfers, promotions and terminations
• Prepare and review payroll account reconciliations
• Record wage transactions accurately in the Company cash books
• Maintain current employee data systems as required
• Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements
• Support all internal and external audits related to payroll The right candidate would have the following:
• CIPP qualification preferred but not essential
• Experience of high volume payroll spread across multi sites
• Knowledge of "spreadover" salary payments would be advantageous
• Previous pension experience preferred in both auto enrolment and local government pension schemes
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
• Knowledge and experience of payroll calculation and processing
• Knowledge of applicable HRMC and government legislation
