Project Accountant

Your new company

My client is a central government organisation based in Central London. They are recruiting for a Project Accountant on a 12-month fixed term contract.

Your new role

Reporting to the Finance & Operations Director, you will be responsible for researching and understanding the needs of the function which will include, scoping and creating a project plan clearly defining milestones, roles and budgets. You will effectively communicate with key stakeholders, on plans and progress and coordinate or user acceptance testing, issues logging, and prompt resolution of issues raised. Furthermore, you will monitor and challenge project costs including monitoring of internal activity, approval of invoices and obtaining authorisation for additional costs. In addition, you will write new policies, procedures and processes and provide training when required.

What you'll need to succeed It is essential to be a qualified accountant with advanced Excel skills. You will have experience of using project management techniques and electronic toolkits. It is essential to have experience of working in a finance project environment, experience of implementing a finance system and process improvement experience.

What you'll get in return

In return you will receive a salary of between £43,512 - £53,181 per annum, dependant on experience, including an excellent benefits package.
