The South East Private Business team works across these locations to make sure we have the right people working on the right projects to deliver the best ideas and experience for our clients.This regional matrix structure is one of the reasons that the South East Private Business Tax team is one of PwC's fastest growing teams nationally, having demonstrated significant growth year on year over a sustained period. Private Business specialists across all key areas - including restructuring, deals, exit planning, succession planning and private client - work together across the region to develop innovative solutions to the most complex Private Business issues.Private Business Tax covers a broad spectrum, from corporate advisory work for established family businesses to personal tax planning for early stage entrepreneurs and everything in between. Most members of the team started their careers with a focus on corporate tax or private client and, over time, have broadened their skillset into a mixed tax role.The continued success of the team means that we are looking to invest further in people who would join within the Cambridge practice to build on a significant period of growth in the local market.You will be based in PwC's brand new state of the art Cambridge office in an area well served by public transport links, as well as easy access to major roads. While you will generally be based in Cambridge, you will also have opportunities to work with partners, directors and senior managers across the regional team across a wide range of projects.Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to being:-The role will predominantly be to support the senior team providing excellent quality advisory services to a high profile portfolio of both UK and multinational clients that are privately owned, either by wealthy entrepreneurs, management teams or families.In addition to becoming involved with existing clients, an enthusiasm to win work and build the business is keyThe work is wide-ranging including value extraction, incentivising management, succession planning, providing domestic and international advice and some audit of tax work.Responsibilities will predominantly be focussed on advisory work as tax compliance work is delivered from our compliance centreYou will receive full support and coaching to aid your development and progression from partners, directors and senior managers locally and regionally, as well as from PwC's network of teams and specialists across the country.Essential skills and experiencePractice-trained finance professional with a relevant professional qualification (eg ACA/ACCA/CTA)Experience of advising privately-owned businesses on a variety of tax mattersProven skills in portfolio management, delegation and assignment management credentialsStrong interpersonal skills including experience of client handling and sustaining relationships over a period of timeBusiness acumen, in terms of an interest in and understanding of broader business issues and an enthusiasm for developing this further in the private business marketAnalytical skills and an ability to solve complex problems in a collaborative and creative way.While someone with a background in mixed tax would be ideally suited to the team, we may also consider individuals who have focused more on either corporate or private client work who are keen to develop their breadth.We understand that applicants may not feel comfortable in applying for a role unless they fully meet the requirements as advertised.
