An immediate opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Accountant who will be responsible for the overall payroll of up to 350 individuals per month. You will also be required to assist in other areas of Finance including Bookkeeping & Management Accounts. Input updates to the monthly payroll eg: Leavers/starters Overtime Shift allowance SSP/SMP Pensions and other deductions Check the payroll file for accuracy prior to payment of the monthly salaries Liaise with staff to resolve any payroll queries Ensure correct payments are made to HMRC, pensions etc. Liaise closely with the payroll bureau Month end Year-end payroll processes General Ledger transactional activities, for example account analyses Accounts payable processing Control accounts and reconciliations Month end and year end accounting close processes Adhoc duties as required.
