Reed Accountancy & Finance Belfast is working in partnership with a hugely successful and valued client in the charitable sector, in the appointment of a full time & permanent Finance Manager. Organic to Northern Ireland, our client enjoys a long standing history of delivering valued services for over 75 years The role: The role of Finance Manager is to provide financial and accounting support to the organisation's finance function and to oversee the day to day running of the finance department. This is a core role within the structured finance function and offers a varied remit with the core duties listed below: Cash flow - Assist with the monitoring and review of cashflow within the organisation: coordination of day-to-day movement between bank accounts, Review of payment runs to ensure internal procedures are adhered to; Income - Management and administration of the organisation's income and debtor management system to include: Invoicing, Living Options income registration system, Recording of and reconciliation of grant income, Debtor control account reconciliation and issuing of monthly debtors report to Senior Management & Credit control Balance sheet - Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, Maintenance of fixed asset register Grants - Prepare grant claims for a range of grant funded projects, Maintain system to ensure that grant claims reconcile to the relevant nominal ledger cost centre, Ensure expenditure is eligible for the relevant funding stream & Assist with preparation for grant audit and verification visits Internal controls - Assist with the maintenance of internal financial controls within the organisation, to include onsite fixed asset verification audits and to ensure that ISO procedures reflect current practice within the department - Ensuring the day to day running of the finance department is in line with existing internal controls and good practice - Maintain and develop sound accounting systems; Management - Oversight of transactions and compliance to chart of accounts, Staff management of Finance Coordinators, initially Finance Coordinator (Income) & Provide support and mentoring role for finance staff: Year-end accounts - Support with accounts preparation work for the year end, Support Director of Finance & Corporate Services and Deputy Head of Finance with ad hoc analysis work. The Person: Essential: All applicants must hold a CCAB recognised Accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACA/ACCA or similar), OR be almost qualified, with a minimum of two years' experience of management within a large diverse organisation with multiple income streams. You will have: Experience in managing income and debtor control systems; Experience in basic cash flow management and control; Knowledge and experience of internal control systems; Experience in balance sheet reconciliation and analysis work; Proficiency in MS Excel & experience of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
