A very stable engineering organisation in Derby are looking to recruit a commercial finance professional which will be a mix of business partnering, long-term forecasting and management accounts.


Your new role
You will be supporting the financial controller in the creation and analysis of maintenance forecast. Tracking the changes to the key budget assumptions relating to maintenance contracts. Providing the business and owners with regular updates on emerging maintenance, trends and profitability.

• Financial Planning and Analysis
• Financial Modelling
• Business Partnering
• Project Accounting
• This role will give them exposure across the company, turn into a business facing role. Interact with shareholders
• Interpreting data and creating budgets
• Process improvement - management reporting
• Creating 5-year plans/business models

This is a high profile with the long-term opportunity to engage with the senior management team and work with financial services in London to implement strategy.


What you'll need to succeed

• Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and preferably degree educated
• Experience of budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Competency in use of Microsoft Office suite of products, with a particular emphasis on using Excel for business modelling
• Strong interpersonal skills: an effective communicator with finance and non-finance staff
• Confident, conscientious, self-starter, able to use initiative to analyse and solve problems
• They would also consider a first-time mover from a top 4 accountancy practice
