Our client is seeking a Trainee Accounts Assistant initially for a 12 month fixed term contract. This would be a great opportunity for someone looking for their first or second role in finance who is passionate about working in finance.

Client Details

Our client is a large organisation in Lincoln.


The Trainee Accounts Assistant will be working as part of a large finance team. Your tasks will be extremely varied, and necessary training will be provided. Your role will involve duties in the following areas:

  • treasury and cash management
  • TAX and VAT reporting
  • fixed asset maintenance
  • month end processes

Specific duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • duties will include, but will not be limited to:
  • reconciling bank accounts, balances, income and cash takings
  • ensuring the information on the accounting system is accurate
  • investigating any discrepancies in banking
  • processing journal entries
  • allocating and reconciling payments
  • supporting fixed asset reviews and inspections
  • liaising with other finance teams to obtain information
  • assisting with year end accounts
  • assisting with month end reconciliations


To apply for this role you do not need experience of working in finance, as training will be provided, but experience of working in finance would be advantageous.

You will:

  • have experience of using Excel i.e. have the ability to write basic formulas
  • be a fast learner
  • enjoy numbers / maths / numeracy
  • have good computer skills

Job Offer

This is initially a 12 month contract position, but it may become permanent. Our client is offering a salary of £18,426 and the following other benefits:
