Description
Advising on general financial policy and monitoring adherence and compliance
Responsible for the preparation of the Statutory and Regulatory Accounts in accordance with the charities Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP)
Responsible for the production of monthly Management accounts
Responsible for the multi-year forecast cash flow and preparing and periodically updating forecasts for the future financial performance of the school over multiple years.
Management of cash resources and the monitoring of bank balances and assisting the Bursar to develop cash flow strategies, including investments and loans, to meet future requirements.
To advise on financial implications of capital projects and new initiatives and report on the expenditure to date compared to in year budget, established project budgets and predicted school cash flow.
Overseeing the fixed assets register and calculation of depreciation and reviewing for obsolete items and making recommendations for write offs if needed
Responsibility for the maintenance of the fees, parent, purchase and nominal ledgers, banking and bank reconciliations and petty cash.
Profile
Membership of a professional body such as ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA.
Strong technical financial and management accounting skills
Detailed knowledge and experience of Excel, including the ability to create models
Highly proficient in Word and PowerPoint
Good working knowledge of using Management Information Systems
