About us Global insurer which underwriters a diverse portfolio of property, casualty and marine insurance and reinsurance. The role The Finance team, based in London provides services for the UK and overseas offices within a key underwriting department and works closely with the Corporation head office. They are a multicurrency operation, with local and overseas based bank accounts. Using a number of proprietary electronic banking systems. This position is responsible for the recording, reconciling, analyzing and reporting of financial information for the various entities. This associate will interact with a variety of stakeholders across the business so strong communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential. This role forms part of the accounting and finance group. Key accountabilities Completing bank reconciliations. Processing and entry of payment information onto the general ledger and cash management and various other Systems Preparation of paperwork and banking of receipts Liaison with internal and external clients to resolve issues Provide backup to existing cash function which involves multicurrency accounting Skills & experience The successful candidate will: Possess a strong academic record, particularly in Maths. Have prior experience of working within a cashier function and knowledge of the insurance industry would be advantageous Have knowledge and experience of bookkeeping practices, for example Sage Line 50 or similar would be advantageous Have a proven track record of working with multiple currencies would be advantageous Be computer literate, they must be a competent user of MS Excel and Word, with the ability to learn company systems
