Are you an experienced Finance Manager looking for your next contract role? We are currently recruiting for a 15-18 month maternity cover contract to work with a Scottish Commercial law firm based in their Edinburgh offices. The position will be working within a friendly, stable team of 4 and reporting to the Director of Finance The successful candidate must be a qualified accountant (part qualified / qualified by experience candidates will be considered) and have proven experience of managing a team. The main responsibilities of this role are ensuring accounting, audit and reporting operations, as well as implementation of systems, processes and initiatives, within the firm are managed smoothly and effectively. Main duties of the role will include: Responsibility for the firm's management accounts Management of the credit control team and the firm's credit control processes Preparation of annual accounts from management accounts (including production of statutory accounts for audit and main contact for auditors) Finance lead on the project to replace the firm's Practice Management System Producing the annual budget, including meeting with division heads and function heads to agree income and costs Liaising with tax advisers on all partner tax payments and on the firm's tax computation Supporting the Director of Finance in statutory reporting, budgeting, annual audit and tax preparation Other responsibilities and ad-hoc projects as deemed suitable by the Director of Finance The person/experience required: Qualified Accountant (part qualified / qualified by experience candidates will be considered, dependant on experience) Experience of working in a legal environment (preferred) Experience of managing a team Advanced Excel skills are essential Experience of presenting data to key stakeholders Robust understanding of financial controls Problem solving capabilities Attention to detail and data integrity Excellent communication skills This position is to start as soon as possible in order to receive a significant handover from the current Finance Manager before she leaves for maternity.
