Part Time Costing Assistant - Redditch 20 - 25 hours per week - flexible in hours spread over 4 - 5 days Mon to Fri

Salary:
£14 - £15 per hour depending on experience My client is a world-renowned engineering company who are searching for a part time costing assistant to replace a retiring employee. Responsibilities to include: Analysis of actual manufacturing costs and preparation of reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs Analysis of data collected and recording comparison of results, including variance analysis Making estimates of new and proposed product costs Providing management with reports specifically comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services Maintaining cost accounting system Assisting in month end close of the general ledger with specific responsibility for raw materials, WIP and finished goods inventory valuations, including reconciliation of them Conducting physical inventories and monitoring cycle count programme Responsibility for revenue recognition and cost accruals for projects and the business in general Review of moving average prices, standard costs and overhead absorption rates on periodic basis Establish and publish KPI's to monitor plant utilisation, efficiency and profitability Review and report on overheads/utilisation by cost centre on a periodic basis Produce various reports relating to sales/stock/WIP and purchases as well as any ad-hoc reports and duties as required Skills and experience required: Preferably minimum of 2 solid years of Accounting experience in a Manufacturing Environment Must have a good understanding of cost systems background and have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles, procedures and cost control Computer Literate - Strong Excel and Access skills and the ability to use Outlook and Word Preferably experience with SAP Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information To apply please email with your CV & brief cover letter or alternatively call (phone number removed) for further info
