The Opportunity With a marked upturn in activity in the global mining sector, this represents an exciting time to be stepping into this key leadership role. With significant involvment across the UK business, its overseas subsidiaries and the wider global network, the new CFO will look to develop a true Finance business partner model, building the Finance team's organisational profile, whilst providing clear direction, leadership and development to the Finance team. The role will require some international travel to support the wider Finance function across Europe and Central Asia. The new CFO will assume responsibility for all financial aspects of the SRK UK group business and will engender best practice, improving and developing financial IT systems, processes and controls, as well as developing management information and reporting across the organisation. This is a truly diverse role requiring the capacity to think and operate at both strategic level displaying sound commercial acumen, and also providing hands-on practical and operational support. The Candidate The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant with a strong track record of career progression and success to date, with either experience at CFO/FD level. The candidate will have ideally worked with international businesses and have a strong professional background with good technical capability. It is of paramount importance that the candidate has strong leadership capability, a team player with a collaborative style and effective at building relationships across the business. We are looking for a commercial candidate who can make an immediate impact and manage a variety of interesting projects with a strong commitment to delivering accurate information in a timely manner.
