We have an excellent opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to work closely alongside legal teams providing meaningful analytical support to help drive commercial decisions in line with the firm's strategy. The successful candidate must be ACCA/ CIMA qualified (or 2 years equivalent), with advanced Excel skills. They must also be willing to challenge existing processes and promote best practice by influencing change to improve profitability. Responsibilities of the role To be responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the hours and fees targets and ensure new employees have been allocated with accurate targets relevant to their grade and role. To calculate the standard costs across each fee earner group and ensure the system is annually updated. To be responsible for the maintenance and integrity of headcount reporting to ensure employees are accurately designated to the relevant team and role for internal and statutory reporting. To lead the month end process and ensure the timely delivery of standard reporting to the wider business. This includes the management information, the board & executive board and office reporting packs as well the reconciliation of payroll across the legal teams. To support the wider business across various projects as and when required. To provide finance support and coaching to key stakeholders within the business on financial drivers to improve performance. To lead the annual budget and quarterly forecast process across designated teams ensuring risks, opportunities and key actions are well communicated and understood by all key stakeholders. Appropriately challenge assumptions and set targets which drive performance in line with strategy. To work collaboratively across the wider finance department and provide a holistic approach in reporting and measuring performance. Embed performance measurement of financial and non-financial indicators. Supporting the teams to achieve its financial objectives by providing insight to help shape business decisions including: Challenging the resourcing strategy across teams and supporting recruitment proposals by analysing the financial impact. Early identification of business challenges. Preparing financials and scenario modelling to support business plans. To drive the pricing strategy and positively influence the impact on profit. To be the lead finance support during major client tenders. Timely completion of monthly MI reporting and financial commentary. Monthly review with stakeholders to ensure performance is in line with plan and recommending corrective action to maximise profit and utilise resource to its full potential. To build professional and effective relationships across the business and become a trusted adviser to influence better business decisions. To work closely within the team and provide support when required during busy periods. To adhere to any other reasonable requests relevant to the role.
