All-round accounts position, working directly for the CEO.
Responsible for ensuring all aspects of finance are kept up-to-date, providing information, account breakdowns, cash flows and reports as required by the Chief Executive and board of trustees.
Client Details
Our client, a not for profit housing association based in Brighton is looking to recruit a part time accountant for 5 months to cover a period of internal secondment.
Description
Working for the CEO the accountant will work full time over 2 days or school hours over 3 and be responsible for:
- Timely preparation of monthly management accounts including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Budgets, Cash flow forecast and Cash flow statements
- Maintain inputs of detailed Financial Model
- Reconciliation of all accounts and the preparation and posting of accruals and pre-payments
- Reconciliation of bank accounts
- Timely preparation of other monthly reports as required
- Timely preparation of all VAT returns
- Prepare, review and file payroll summaries, journals and reports ensuring staff paid on time
- Reconciliation of statements and timely posting of interest payments
- Train staff in the use of financial procedures as appropriate
- Writing financial procedures as required
- Input of supplier invoices into Sage
- Process payment runs
Profile
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Good understanding of accounting practices and statutory requirements
- High level of computer and numerical literacy including packages such as Excel and Word
- Experience of Sage 50 accounting software
- Experience of financial modelling
- Experience and understanding of charity financial management

£40,000 pro rate
