Your new company is a well known manufacturing business who are looking to enhance their team and recruit an experienced Assistant Accountant on a permanent basis. This Accrington based business have benefited from year on year growth over the past 5 years and with this, have acquired a number of new businesses across UK & Europe.

Your new role
In your new role as Assistant Accountant, you will report directly to the Finance Director and will be working in a long-serving, small but fast paced finance team. Your role will involve you managing the accounts for 4 UK businesses and your duties and responsibilities will involve; weekly payroll for 100 employees, intrastat declarations and EC sales. Alongside this, you will be responsible for the month end sales ledger journal, sales & margin analysis reports, month end close of the purchase ledger and assisting with the monthly management accounts pack. You will also be involved in the reconciliation of supplier statements, quarterly VAT returns and restating of foreign currency debtors and creditors. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to develop and progress, you will work with a highly experienced team and be offered the opportunity to further your CIMA studies. This is a full time role working Monday to Thursday, 8am - 4:30pm with an early finish of 3:30pm on a Friday.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful for this role, you should be AAT qualified (or equivalent) and have worked in a similar role previously. You should be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of processing end to end payroll and be comfortable working on Excel inclusive of vlookups & pivot tables. Experience of ERP systems would be desirable but not essential. Ideally, you will have a desire to progress with your studies which would be fully funded by the business.
