Finance Assistant | Lutterworth | 2- 3 Months

Job purpose:
To allow the organisation to meet its financial obligations to suppliers and expense claimants whilst maintaining a high level of internal control and delivering a high-quality service to all departments.


  • To process the purchase ledger ensuring invoices and expenses claims have the relevant authorisation to adhere to internal controls.
  • Coding invoices and expense claims to the correct nominal to give an accurate reflection on activities in the management accounts.
  • To ensure timely payments to suppliers and expense claimants, retaining the good credit reputation of the organisation and positive relationships with suppliers.
  • To reconcile supplier statements with the purchase ledger to ensure all invoices have been captured.
  • To ensure expenses claims are made within the boundaries of the company expenses policy and have the relevant supporting documentation to ensure consistency and compliance for all claimants.
  • To process rail bookings for colleagues, allowing them to travel as necessary for their roles.

  • Knowledge & experience:
    Experience: A good working knowledge of purchase ledger processes. Competent using excel spreadsheets and finance systems.
    Competencies: Excellent inter-personal skills with an ability to communicate at all levels, including effective and clear verbal and written communication. A good team player with excellent planning and organisational skills, demonstrating an ability to work on own initiative, to organise and prioritise own workload whilst adhering to tight deadlines. Have a flexible approach to work with an ability to handle multiple projects.
