Description

This is an exciting newly created role as a Finance Manager reporting directly into the Managing Director and will give you an opportunity to use your accountancy skills with this progressive organisation to be able to maximise and then re-invest profits generated back into the local community within Barnsley and beyond. Key areas of delivery will include:

  • Manage the production of monthly management reports to all Budget Holders
  • Taking ownership of the quality, accuracy and timeliness of financial information
  • Analyse and quantify the financial risk of adverse cost and income variances and provide costed options for corrective action to be taken
  • Monitor Capital spend and maintenance costs
  • Manage SLA and Business Efficiency targets
  • Leading the long term financial planning process and provide the information necessary to meet budgets and targets
  • The postholder will oversee all statutory reporting requirements, such as statutory annual accounts. This will include liaison with internal and external auditors, as well as other external organisations
  • Play a key role in the annual budget setting process by providing costings and forecasts
  • Financial appraisals of complex scenarios and options using proven analytical techniques
  • Assist with the negotiation and management of contracts affecting income and expenditure with external organisations
  • Deliver financial support to the tendering process for contract services ensuring that financial governance standards are complied with
  • Investment appraisals and analysis of business case options ensuring that developments are progressed in line with the Strategic Business Plan

Profile

As a Senior Finance Manager role reporting directly into the MD, you'll need to possess the following skills, qualifications and experience:

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA / ACA / CIPFA / CIMA)
  • Significant experience of operating at a senior level reporting to senior stakeholders and with previous staff management experience
  • Experience of costing of contracts and financially supporting bids and tenders

Job Offer

A salary range of £48,000 - £55,000 depending upon relevant experience
