Location Derby The Company You will be joining an independent certification body, originally accredited by the UKAS as the only internationally accredited certification body specifically established for the railway industry.As a relatively small but ambitious Derby based group, business turnover currently stands at around £1.4million but building on their repute within the railway industry the Board and Directors have long term plans to establish themselves in new areas. About the Job This is a great opportunity for a Certification Body Manager with a Lead Audit background to join an ambitious business built upon HSQE certification and audit expertise. The business is built upon solid foundations in the rail industry (predominantly Traction & Rolling Stock but also in depot build, and minor civils infrastructure such as bridge refurbishments, embankment repairs, piling, car parks troughing etc) with long term ambitions of expanding into new areas and gaining the necessary accreditations and EA codes in other industries complementing the outstanding service already on offer to rail clients. In this role, you will be seen as an integral 'Decision Maker' in the eyes of the company and UKAS and will be expected to advise Directors & colleagues on QHSE latest developments and best practice, promote and develop business opportunities, maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records, contribute to the tendering, evaluation and negotiation process for the award of contracts and agreements. The Requirements As Lead Auditor with the potential for engagement as a Certification Body Manager you will have a railway sector background and experience in auditing to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards (ISO 50001 & ISO 55001 would be ideal but not essential). You should also have an IRCA recognised accreditation/course and demonstrable evidence such as a Professional Development Log reflecting experience within the rail sector, essentially against EA codes 22 and 31, and ideally for other transport and transport equipment codes. You must be within commuting distance of head office in Derby but as the business are servicing clients across the length and breadth of the country, you must be flexible with regards to working away from home including occasional nights away and be prepared to be trained for other audit areas such BS 50001 & BS 55001. Remuneration You should expect to achieve in the region of £40,000 - £42,000 benefits. Travel and expenses will be covered for working away.
