Job Details

Role Responsibilities

  • Overall in-charge of Financial Compliance and Reporting function for Malaysia.
  • Ensure BASF group guidelines and local statutory compliance to meet financial reporting and accounting requirements.
  • Implement Accounting / Reporting Policies & Internal Control Policies and ensure compliance with BASF Group guidelines and local Malaysia GAAP.
  • Maintain effective systems with strong internal controls implemented to govern the integrity of all systems, processes and data and enhance the quality of the Company’s data.
  • Maintain accurate financial and accounting records through proper control and verification processes to meet corporate and regulatory requirements
  • Responsible for General Accounting transactions performed and support shared service to close the books for Malaysia companies, according to predetermined schedule
  • Ensure that financial impact and reporting requirements of key business activities are being analyzed, evaluated, translated as period closing requirements and informed to the Shared Service.
  • Responsible for timely, complete and accurate submission of company reporting package and local statutory reports.
  • Ensure financial statement correctly reflect company's business and comply with relative IFRS and local GAAP's requirements
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors and ensure that scope of audit, approach and work plan are effectively prepared to meet the audit objectives
  • Coordinate and facilitate audit activities, ensure that requirements of the auditors are met in the most effective manner by various stakeholders in BASF
  • Undertake analyses on financial operational results and variances to provide information and recommendation to supervisor and Regional Finance.
  • Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to other business and functions to drive business strategic objectives
  • Actively seek to understand existing and new business model/requirement, issues and challenges and derive finance solutions to support the business needs

Requirements

  • CPA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant financial accounting experience in a MNC commercial background
  • Has finance business partnering experience with commercial stakeholders
  • High level understanding of product costing as the individual will be involved in stock take
  • Proficient in Malaysia’s accounting principles, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Companies Act requirements
  • Has SP knowledge and experience.
