Group Financial Reporting Manager This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Finance professional with a strong technical accounting background and solid IFRS knowledge, to carve out their position in a dynamic FTSE 250 financial services group. Role overview; Reporting into the Group Financial Controller and leading a team of 4 direct reports, this position will hold responsibility for all external financial reporting and technical accounting of the HGH plc parent company and UK subsidiaries. This includes the Annual Report & Accounts, interim report, quarterly trading updates and management of the audit process. The role will also be instrumental in supporting the Group Financial Controller and finance leadership team, including Head of Investor Relations, Director of FP&A and Director of Group Finance, in ad-hoc project work. Responsibilities will include; Financial reporting Lead process to prepare the Group's Annual Report in accordance with IFRS, Listing rules and FRC guidance Own preparation of the CFO statement, Business Review and Consolidated and Parent Company Financial Statements Preparation of the year end statutory accounts for all UK subsidiaries Lead preparation of year end preliminary announcement, interim results announcement and quarterly results announcements Own production of other external financial reporting, including FCA regulatory reporting Own Group statutory chart of accounts and manage change process Technical Accounting Overall supervision and management of technical accounting projects for the Group, including leading working group for implementation of IFRS 17 Preparation and review of technical accounting memos and discussion papers for Finance Leadership Team, Ex-Co members and Audit Committee on new accounting standards, transactions, proposals and other ad-hoc queries from the business Development, maintenance and improvement of Group accounting policies Assess and take actions following investigations into internal accounting and external reporting implications of new and amended standards Audit Maintenance of finance relationship with internal and external audit, including responsibility for enacting suggested changes where appropriate Manage the Group's audit processes from end to end to ensure that the half year review, interim and final year-end audit are conducted efficiently in adherence to tight deadlines Tracking and resolution of Group Management Letter Points Preparation of audit committee papers About us Hastings Direct is a fast growing, agile, digitally focused general insurance provider of products and services to over 2.7 million customers in the UK. Required skills and experience ACCA, ACA or CA qualified accountant IT/ Software skills, in particular a reasonable aptitude in MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint is essential.
