Trade Compliance Co-ordinator Welwyn Garden City £30k - £33k Our client is a specialist manufacturer in the Aerospace industry. Due the growth in shipments a new role has been created to assist with compliance documentation for shipping. It is essential that you have either experience in preparing export documentation and dealing with couriers and knowledge of export customs laws and regulations or knowledge of preparing shipping paperwork and dealing with courier. This is a busy varied and challenging role and is likely to suit someone who is highly process driven and works well in a structured environment. Experience working in the Aerospace Industry would be advantageous but not essential, but a strong understanding of US Export procedure is required for ITAR. Main Duties, Objectives &

Responsibilities:
Preparation and processing of paperwork for domestic and international shipments; including despatch notes, commercial invoices, customs and other shipping documents required to facilitate timely and accurate despatch of customer and supplier shipments in line with company processes and in accordance with current legislation. Supporting/managing the activities with regards to all aspects of export control within area of responsibility Providing front end business process support on export related issues from first contact/RFQ through to business winning, organising/attending prospect reviews Providing expert advice to Procurement, Contracts, Sales and Project departments on matters relating to UK / US Export regulations and best practice. Undertaking contracts reviews Assist with shipment of goods when required, including raising necessary paperwork for dispatching, shipping instructions for freight forwarders etc. Co-ordinate and Review Freight invoices Check orders are fully compliant with company procedures - MK Denial compliant, export licence, end use statements, credit cover/limits. Ensure all shipping documentation is correct/compliant including export Licences, shipping terms, proof of delivery/export and records available for UK Export Control or tax audits. Ensure ITAR requirements are met Maintain/update sales recognition file on a daily basis, includes checking freight forwarders for regular updates. Checking customs documentation such as import/export declarations, resolving queries and ensuring records are accurate and up to date. Ensuring that paperwork is produced to comply with the requirements for the import and export of goods. Assisting in the preparation and submission of compliance returns. Ensuring customers are fully informed with all relevant information regarding their orders and shipments. Checking current legislation to ensure processes are compliant. Communication internally and externally on all export matters. Training & Education: A-C GCSE Level or equivalent in English and Maths Warehousing, Logistics or Supply Chain qualification Degree qualified Trade compliance qualification desirable Experience: Good understanding of Goods-in and out, Returns, stock control Proven experience working in a similar Trade Compliance / Export role Previous experience in implementing and managing import clearance activities A working knowledge of the UK Export Control process and US Departments of Defence (ITAR) Skills & Knowledge: IT proficiency with the ability to input and retrieve data Good time management and organisational skills Strong problem-solving skills (containment & counter-measure) Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing is desirable Strong in building relationships and able to communicate at all levels Team player, and able to work on own initiative Ability to take responsibility and be accountable for decisions Able to work under pressure Must give and accept feedback professionally Punctual and reliable Additional Requirements: Flexibility to work additional hours when required Closing date is 21st July 2019 To Apply please follow the application process for the site this job is advertised on or email your CV to us By applying for the above position and providing your personal data to us you understand that your data will be processed in line with our Privacy Policy.
