In line with the Global Finance Transformation, Markets Finance are launching new roles in parallel with the deployment of Mercury, a global SAP implementation, one of which is the Commercial Finance Lead The Commercial Finance Lead manages a team of PFAs across an SL focused on the core account and engagement landscape. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to play a leading role in implementing the commercial finance model at EY across the UK and Ireland business through influencing senior stakeholders. The opportunityThe Commercial Finance Service Line Lead will have a deep understanding of the Service Line's financial performance, stepping in to shape new solutions and focus their efforts where there is the greatest need for their support. He/she will be a key member of Finance Service Line leadership, constantly staying connected with Service Line Leads concerning the key issues. The Commercial Finance Service Line Lead will be responsible for deploying the model in their Service Line and more broadly teaming with their peers to deploy the model within UKI. He/she will ensure the team are focused where there is greatest financial risk and opportunity with a strong focus on margin and embedding Mercury particularly during pre and post go-live.The Commercial Finance Service Line Lead will be part of a growing community as the model is deployed across the globe. Their knowledge and expertise gained in the role will be vital to ensure the successful expansion of the model through sharing lessons learned and supporting global to develop best practices for others to leverage.Your key responsibilitiesTakes the lead at the Service line levelCo-develop priorities working closely with the Service Line and Finance Lead to maximise financial performance Provides deep business insight related to the Service Line's [engagement level] margin, revenue recognition and inventory performance Focus on scenarios and portfolios that are the most complex and material in natureEnsure the Service Line Commercial Finance Advisors are deployed effectively in order that they optimize and improve financial and commercial outcomes for CS driving an oversight by exception approach at all timesWork with Area and Global Commercial Finance Lead to shape and/or refine oversight analytics to ensure focus is optimized in their RegionFoster a positive and collaborative teaming relationship with the PBFA, MBA and GAFA Leads Management responsibilitiesManage to the team budget and drive recruitment efforts needed to build out a highly effective teamProvides line management including performance management activities such as goal setting and reviewsStructures and deploys a training strategy, tailoring the global framework as needed, to strengthen the team's skills Encourages less experienced members of the team to achieve their full potential through identifying stretch opportunitiesCollaborates with other Markets Finance leaders to ensure the success of the overall Markets Finance structure Actively leads and encourages sharing knowledge, success stories and overcoming challenges across the Commercial Finance community Collaborates closely with the Finance Business Lead to identify and coach strong talent from the MBA organisation to build a Commercial Finance pipelineDrives continuous improvement Takes the lead to shape new solutions and implement best practices which will provide greatest benefit to client serversStrong teaming with their peers, and Area/Global PFA Leads in order to validate decisions to adjust the PFA model where neededCollaborate with MBA manager to analyse [Service Now ticket] escalations and co-develop solutions to fill MBA knowledge gapsActively seek feedback from Client Servers and other key stakeholders to improve the support being provided by the PFAs Play a key role teaming with the Area and Global PFA lead to shaping enhanced solutions which ensures global consistencyAnalytical/Decision Making ResponsibilitiesProviding financial and commercial guidance and performance management support to members of the PFA team.Analysing large quantities of data in order to form and communicate a crisp view of the Service Line [engagement] landscape.Updating the Finance Leadership with insights of business trends affecting engagement level performance e.g. pricing, procurement pressures, areas of focus Assessing drivers of financial results with constant focus on improvement and rapid course correction strategies where neededSkills and attributes for successDeep financial and commercial acumenProven financial and commercial acumen of advising on highly complex material issues that improved the financial outcomeStrong knowledge of EY's financial tools and processesAble to quickly demonstrate strong understanding and insights of a the Service Line's financial performance and provide guidance to PFAs on the application of those insights to partner books of business and engagement performanceAbility to look at issues from a client server perspective understanding the commercial pressures they faceLeadershipProven strong leadership and coaching skillsManages expectations with all stakeholdersFlexible to meet changing business demands but able to challenge demands on the team to ensure global consistencyAbility to maintain momentum and optimism when facing pressures and setbacks are encounteredLeads a team through a collaborative approach, making difficult decisions when neededA successful track record of leading a virtual teamDemonstrates appreciation and respect of varying cultures - both corporate and geographicalStrategic thinking and continuous improvementFocuses first and foremost on how best to enable client serving teams which in turn deliver business benefitsDeep knowledge of the firm's tools, processes and policies and able to impart this knowledge in an effective manner Worked alongside other key Finance and business stakeholders to develop and deploy solutions which will benefit CS Ability to draw on and share their knowledge and experiences across the team with the Area and Global Commercial Finance LeadAbility to understand big picture strategies at the area and global level and how the strategy translates to the broader commercial finance team.
