This role is a great opportunity to start your career in one of the UK's top insurance businesses, working in a team responsible for the technical pricing and statistical modelling of a diverse portfolio of insurance products including commercial property and casualty insurance. As a Graduate Technical Pricing Analyst, you will be at the sharp end of our business, delivering sophisticated statistical models that are used to drive commercial decisions, developing analytical capabilities and performing analysis on large amounts of data, solving challenging problems, recommending changes to products and pricing techniques, as well as collaborating with other business functions. In this entry level role, you will be joining the experienced head-office team of experts which sits within the wider Allianz UK Technical area so you will benefit from exposure to a wide variety of different functions, teams and individuals. Some of your responsibilities will include: Sourcing, checking, cleaning and analysing data for use in modelling Conducting complex analysis such as multivariate predictive modelling Explore and assess suitability of advanced analytical techniques in technical pricing Create and maintain data visualisation capabilities for performance reporting Build good working relationships across various teams Support senior analysts and managers with adhoc analysis and reports Utilise pricing software such as WTW Emblem and R (training will be provided) Please note: This is not a graduate scheme and is an entry level role. Due to the scope and of the level of individual needed, we are also advertising this role as a Technical Pricing Analyst (Job ID 7342) but both are for the same positon Skills and Experience: To be a success in this role, you will be a recent graduate to a degree level in numerate or scientific discipline (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Physics, Actuarial, Computer Science), as well as the following: Natural affinity to numbers, analysis and creative problem solving High level of accuracy and attention to detail Experience in one or more programming language (e.g. SAS, R, SQL) is an advantage Strong MS Office (especially MS Excel) Knowledge of statistical models and data analysis techniques is an advantage Ability to simplify problems into component parts and deal with them systematically Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences What Can Allianz Offer You: A competitive salary which is reviewed annually, Annual Bonus related to individual and company performance A generous pension plan Competitive holiday allowance that increases with length of service, with the option of buying and selling up to 5 days holiday per year Share purchase plan Flexible benefits plan, giving the option to tailor benefits (such as dental insurance and private medical care) to suit individual needs Excellent training and development opportunities
