A leading independent accountancy practice based in central Glasgow is currently looking for a VAT specialist to join its growing Tax team The Firm The firm is a well established, independent practice with a legacy going back decades. It provides Tax, Accountancy, Audit, Business Advisory and Payroll services to a diverse range of large and small businesses. The Role Essentially the role is to provide the firm with a dedicated VAT resource so it can offer its clients a dedicated VAT service. The firm is flexible as to what experience level the new hire comes in at, but a minimum requirement will be an experienced VAT specialist who can oversee the compliance function, deal with HMRC VAT enquiries and assist clients with the transition to MTD. Over and above this there is scope to bring in an ambitious, senior VAT professional who has the ability to proactively build a VAT advisory practice and who can provide advice on complex VAT scenarios. An individual at this level will need to have a proven track record in business development.
