The Company: An exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller (school term time hours) to join an Educational Consultancy, working to support children's needs. The Financial Controller will be an integral part of the team responsible for maintaining an efficient and accurate finance function and putting new procedures in place. This is a varied role where you will report directly to the MD assisting with commercial contracts and tenders, reporting on projects to record business commerciality. They work with students who display challenging behaviour in certain situations and it is their job to enable them to take responsibility for themselves and to be able to contribute successfully to society. The Role Oversee the day to day activities of the financial accounting systems. Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial accounts for Senior Management. Managing all company transactions, ensuring that invoices are processed, coded correctly and paid in a timely manner. Preparation of and monitoring of budgets. Managing credit control, ensuring that all outstanding debts are collected and allocated Preparation of VAT returns Recording all office expenditure and managing the budget Preparing new business contracts and tenders, working with the MD to ensure that new business proposals are competitive and profitable Attending business meetings with the MD/ Accountant Managing Petty Cash Ad hoc project work as and when Skills Required: Professional accountancy qualification/ AAT, CIMA, ACCA Strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt to changes and tackle challenges efficiently and effectively. Commerciality Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure. Strong attention to detail. Excellent IT skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel etc. Experience within a similar role is essential.
