PURPOSE OF THE ROLES We have 3 Junior Management Accountant roles with primary purpose of assisting the Finance Managers with analysing and production posting of data leading to the close of Functional business results in agreed reporting periods of central business units and central cost centre expense budgets, completion of Balance sheets reconciliations and backup including working with both internal and external Auditors. Each of the 3 roles will have a primary central function which they will support Role 1 (Junior Management Accountant, Salary Function & Office Cashbooks) This includes Capitalisation in accordance to IAS38, Fixed Assets reconciliations and preparation of statutory accounts and preparation of statutory accounts Role 2 (Junior Management Accountant, Property & Legal Functions) This includes maintaining property Leases in accordance with IFRS 16 and preparation of statutory accounts and preparation of statutory accounts Role 3 (Junior Management Accountant, IT Function) This includes Office bank rec's, payroll and preparation of statutory accounts and preparation of statutory accounts JOB DESCRIPTION Accounting Posting of business unit expenses, accruals and prepayments in-line with Group Accounting policy Preparation and reconciliation of business unit costs and ensuring correct postings (along with any recharges which are posted monthly) Preparation and review of the expense's element of Profit and Loss Accounts for business unit, area and region Preparation and maintenance of balance sheet reconciliations to ensure proper supports are available, including investigation and resolution of any legacy balances Assist in queries with key stakeholders and business partners Assist in internal and external audits where necessary Help with understanding processes and any improvements to help with efficiency Office Cashbook reconciliations and postings into the Ledger and analysis (Role 1) Maintaining Lease information and postings in accordance to IFRS16 requirements (Role 2) Maintaining F.A Registers in accordance with company policy and IAS38 requirements (Role 3) Completing IT key supplier variance analysis (Role 3) Maintaining key transactional listings for variance analysis for the Central Team in all Functions (Role 3) Process Management Documentation of processes including broker accounting and monthly close process Assist in automation of manual process and liaise with Finance Managers for implementation of suggestions Analysis and Reporting Assist with the analysis of key drivers of expense variances when comparing with budgets and prior year, seeking explanation of variances and providing commentary Preparation of cost-based trending reports including variance analysis KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES: Functional Knowledge/ technical knowledge Understanding of Chart of Accounts and cost Centre Structure Knowledge of financial accounts and associated terminology Business Expertise Good written and oral communication skills Excellent attention to detail / thoroughness Able to build and manage relationships with internal Ardonagh stakeholders Driving continuous improvement and innovation Assist in identifying the causes of process inefficiencies and drive improvements to reduce exceptions / errors Able to present information in a concise efficient and professional manner Ability to use existing skills to pick up and complete other tasks as required by management Building self-insight & relationships Able to build strong relationships with onshore and offshore teams. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Education - A Levels or Equivalent Specialised Knowledge - Financial accounting and associated terminology Skills - Microsoft Excel skills to intermediate level, Pivot and formulas Professional Certification - Part qualified CIMA/ACA/ACCA/AAT or Qualified by Experience. Experience - Experience in working in Accounts PERSON SPECIFICATION Willingness to understand how the business operates and the regulated environment that it works in Understanding of Office Cashbooks and reconciliations and postings to GL The awareness of Confidential information when dealing with salaries Strong written and oral communication skills Understands the importance of providing accurate and complete information on time.
