My client is leading academy in the UK, they have over 2,300 employees who each play a vital role in educating over 18,000 pupils. Due to continued growth they are looking to recruit a Finance Manager based in Daventry. The successful candidate will develop and monitor the Academies' financial management, monthly forecasting and reporting, and budget setting. • Prepare the Academies' annual and 3 year budget based on guidance from the Trust's Chief Finance Officer and support from the Regional Operations Director (ROD) /Deputy Regional Operations Director (DROD)
• Complete the month end process, review monthly monitoring reports and provide narrative to the ROD on key spend, variances and trends
• Monitoring and management of aged debtors and creditors, including taking appropriate action to resolve outstanding debts
• Hold monthly meetings with the ROD and Headteachers to discuss budget reports and financial performance and agree any actions to be taken
• Provide regular monthly financial budgetary reports to the ROD/DROD, Headteachers and individual budget holders
• Provide monthly analysis of budgets and commentary for ROD/DROD ahead of their monthly review with Chief Finance Officer
• Prepare any budget reforecasts throughout the year in conjunction with the Regional Finance Lead
• Support the Regional Finance Lead in reviewing, analysing the reconciling the Academy Balance Sheet and control accounts
• Maintain a current and complete understanding of the income streams coming to and projected to come to the Academies, including Pupil Premium, Year 7 Catch Up, Post 16 Bursary, Early Years, Special Education Needs and Disabilities and other Local Authority funding, Free School Meals and self-generated income
• Ensure robust systems are in place for the effective monitoring of all spend
• Investigate and/or develop strategies for attracting additional income for the Academies
• Ensure that the academies contracts register is up to date and is used effectively to plan procurement and contract renewal
• Support the DROD and Regional Leads in the tendering of new and renewal of established contracts as required
• Ensure regional finance procedures are in place to ensure effective financial control
• Monitor the accuracy of the Academies' accounting system and perform regular reconciliations and reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness of posting. Correct all errors arising in a timely fashion in advance of month end
• Prepare documents for internal and external audits as required and implement audit actions as agreed by the ROD
• To manage the academy financial risk register and to ensure it is updated monthly with any new risks added and discussed with the ROD In return a competitive salary of between £26,999 and £30,507 is on offer depending on experience, this is a full time, all year round but consideration will be given to term time working.
