Main purpose of the role This is an excellent opportunity for a second role for a finance analyst or part qualified accountant. The main purpose of this appointment is to provide financial analysis and insight support to the Firmwide, FP&A team. The key reports will be delivered to the most senior stakeholders in the business, so a key eye for detail and the ability to work at a fast pace to meet tight reporting deadlines is essential. Key responsibilities As part of a team of around 20 employees you will be responsible, but not limited to: Work in a fast pace environment, providing analytical support to, and reporting to Commercial Finance Manager Running regular reports, analysing, thereby providing insight that will be distributed to the business Contributing to budget, planning and forecast models and month end close Writing commentary to include in business performance reports Work in collaboration with Commercial Finance Managers to ensure one version of the truth Supporting the Commercial Finance Managers across a range of commercial projects as required Investigation and resolution of queries, ensuring queries are resolved in a timely manner Continuous improvement methodology to ensure current processes are efficient and fit for purpose Liaison with Business Service stakeholders to manage and drive performance Help develop new MI reports and testing Reporting in collaboration with HR on partner performance, promotions, etc. Assist Commercial Finance Manager in conducting and reviewing peer analysis and be aware of major changes in UK legal industry Skills, experience and competencies The ideal candidate will be a studying for a recognised accountancy qualification (CIMA / ACCA) or passed technician stage You will be computer literate, and have a strong knowledge of management information systems (Excel to intermediate or advanced level). These tools will be utilised to make best for reporting and analytical purposes You should have very good attention to detail, proven client-facing and organisational skills, with experience in a professional environment You will be ambitious, client-focused and keen to learn. You will be a team player, able to work in a busy environment and be used to working to strict deadlines You should have strong knowledge and practical experience in analytical and decision-making skills, ability to develop innovative and flexible analysis for management review You are pro-active and have the ability to use own initiative and lateral thinker who can spot connections from a variety of sources Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate effectively at multiple levels of the organization and manage expectations of stakeholders The ability to challenge constructively and provide meaningful solutions A reliable, enthusiastic and a 'can do' approach You have a collaborative style and able to build strong working relationships within finance and across the business and from time to time be able to work independently.
