Job Details
We are seeking a financially qualified individual to join the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) Audit Committee.
You will have a record of achievement at a senior level in strategic financial management and be a full professional member of one of the six UK Accountancy bodies forming CCAB (plus CIMA).
The Audit Committee provides assurance that the necessary internal and external systems and processes are in place for identifying, managing and mitigating the risks relating to the discharge of the GOsC’s statutory duties, and makes recommendations for any actions to Council and the Executive, as appropriate.
The Audit Committee meets three times a year, usually for half a day, with additional time required for reading meeting papers. Remuneration is £306 per day, including reading and preparation time. Travel and subsistence expenses are also refundable within limits set by the GOsC.
The General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) is the UK-wide statutory body established by the Osteopaths Act 1993 to regulate and develop the osteopathic profession and ensure public protection. This post is for an external member (someone who is not currently a member of the GOsC Council).
