Elevation Recruitment Group are currently working with a prestigious, well known business that has multiple sites across the country. They are a market leading operator and have doubled their sales over the past 5 years. They currently have a rare opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to work in their Finance Shared Services team on a permanent basis. The main purpose of the role is to ensure the efficient and effective processing of supplier related transactions and successfully lead a team of 18 AP clerks. This is a hands-on management role, overseeing the team who are tasked with the following duties:-
• Log and match cost of sales invoices to GRNs on a timely basis
• Investigate queries relating to weight and price differences
• Process claims and non-conformances on a timely basis
• Regular statement reconciliations Other duties will include: -
• Carrying out appraisals and 121s
• Setting and monitoring team and individual targets
• Coaching and mentoring members of the team
• Taking an active role within recruitment for the department
• Attending and chairing departmental meetings
• Dealing with internal and external stakeholders
• Process and balance end of day reports
• Ensure KPIs (GRNI, aged creditors, PPR stats) are accurately reported in a timely manner
• Liaise with AR and financial accounts to ensure numbers are accurately reported and processes are efficient
• Work with internal and external auditors
• Provide cover for the weekly payment run as and when needed
• Take an active role in developing systems and processes to streamline efficiencies The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
• Ideally 3 Previous experience in managing people within an AP function
• Good communication (verbal and written) and inter-personal skills
• Ability to drive and lead change initiatives
• Skills in planning and organising, decision making, negotiation and time management
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to forge strong working relationships with a diverse set of colleagues
• Experience of working in a service culture environment
• Proactive and high-energy
