We have a great opportunity for a Cashier to join our friendly and busy Finance Team in Colchester. This is a part time role where you will be expected to work around 20-25 hours per week. We are a market leader in providing housing services to the affordable housing sector, and a major presence in homecare and deliver a high standard of Care Services providing personal care to over 20,000 people a year, enabling older and disabled people to continue living in their own homes. Reporting to the Invoicing and Credit Control Manager, you will work as part of a capable and experienced finance team who are responsible for the Income for the Care division (England and Wales). As a Cashier you will take responsibility for the cash management for the division and provide a professional, responsive and efficient service to the finance team. Your key responsibilities and duties will include - Process and monitor remittances, ensuring the correct allocation to the Customer's account in accordance with published timescale Manage remittance advices received into the team by logging and monitoring for payment Prepare daily cash reports for the team Prepare and submit payments on the online banking system and raise ad-hoc cheques Process all receipts and payments to the Finance System Pay cheques in to the bank Assist with the Direct Debit process to include setting up, monitoring and processing periodic Direct Debit collections Process credit and debit card payments made by phone Act as a point of contact for the finance team for all Banking related queries Other ad hoc activities (including assistance with other tasks falling under the remit of the Financial Controller) What are we looking for - We are looking for someone that will bring a great energy and motivation into the finance team, a self-starter that wants to learn and progress within a fast-growing UK wide organisation Customer service is at the forefront of our business, so you must reflect this in the service you provide to our colleagues. You will have impeccable attention for detail, pride yourself on accuracy, and be able to multitask with ease. You don't need previous accounts experience in order to apply, however you must have some office administration experience, a passion for numbers and a genuine interest in pursuing an accounts role The ideal candidate must be both robust and resilient and be able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Ability to work in a confidential environment. Competent IT Skills - Confident user of Microsoft packages, including word and excel - Sunsystem or other finance packages would be desirable.
