A leading independent manufacturer (and listed business) with 2 sites in Lancashire is looking to recruit a Financial Accountant into a newly created role. Reporting to the Financial Controller and working closely with the Group Finance Director this role will take a lead on the following areas: Responsible for the preparation of statutory financial statements Review the internal controls of the finance department and recommend changes and improvements when necessary Cash and treasury management Production of all regulatory reporting requirements; VAT returns, IPR (Inward Processing Relief) etc Assist in the production of the monthly management accounts pack. Ad hoc project work as and when required in line with company's growth plans Preparation of key external reporting requirements including interim and year end accounts, city presentations and supporting analysis The role will also support; Consolidation of actual, budget and forecast results across the Group Improving and streamlining the reporting processes to enhance the quality and speed of production of Management Information to the Board Delivery of cash flow and net debt forecasting as well as improving working capital and cash management processes across the Group Monitoring & managing the Group's financial risk exposures The ideal candidate for this role will be: ACA/ACCA qualified - trained within practice or industry within a Financial Accounting role Excellent communication skills - a proven ability to converse with peers and senior leaders Sound understanding of financial reporting - up to date with current reporting standards Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and individually. Ability to work positively within a change environment and possess change leadership qualities. Excellent attention to detail, organised, with strong problem solving skills. Willing and able to roll sleeves up to ensure deadlines and objectives are achieved.
