Financial Controller Reporting to: CFO Ignata Finance are exclusively retained to recruit a new Financial Controller for a sector leading, fast growing retail business, with ambitions to rapidly become the market leader. This company is entering a period of growth, driven by expanding their store footprint, and they are looking to recruit a commercial-thinking finance professional to join their high quality team to drive real improvement across the business. This is an exciting and high-profile role for someone who really wants to make a difference. You will need drive and ambition to succeed in a fast-growing business. You and your team will lead on all aspects of commercial decision support and financial control. Responsibilities Managing and motivating the finance function - with three direct reports Implement and maintain the key financial and reporting systems including management accounts, financial accounts and cash Assessing risk and opportunities and providing the board with concise, accurate, and timely information concerning past, current, and forecasted business performance Ownership of modelling within the finance function to produce and maintain a full five year plan financial model to a high level of detail Owning and contributing to the production of Monthly Board Report Compile the annual statutory financial statements and consolidated financial statements at year end Prepare annual budgets and forecasts Accurate and prompt cash management and forecasting Manage the year-end audit process Assist senior management in all ad hoc projects as necessary Challenging teams on performance aspects and driving forward solutions and change Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA). A dynamic individual with ability to communicate with non-financial individuals Open mind to taking on new challenges and projects in a fast paced, growing business Good financial management experience coupled with proven timely delivery of financial statements to accounting standards Highly commercial and able to manage the broader perspective Hands on, operational, with a 'can do' approach
