Sewell Wallis have been engaged by an exciting, high growth business based in South Leeds to recruit a Financial Accountant to support the Group FC. As the Financial Accountant, you will report to the Group Financial Controller and take responsibility for the day to day responsibilities for the business financial reporting and compliance. Your remit will include the preparation of timely, accurate financial information for the Group FC and Board. You will help grow and create the finance function as the business moves forward, and take responsibility for financial control and transaction processing within the business. The brief includes taking their finance processes to the next level. You will be supported in your personal and professional development that will enable you to achieve this. You will work closely with various other key stakeholders of the senior management team, on ad hoc and strategic projects, and have input into these pieces of work Importantly, this person will have the ambition to grow and develop as the business continues to expand, explore new markets and broaden its portfolio. Our client has come a long way in the last few years with the immediate future seeing more challenges and opportunity than probably at any time in our history. Key responsibilities; -Preparing weekly cash flow statements, and controlling expenditure and cash flow -Preparation of year-end accounts and statutory accounts -Business partnering across the company to ensure you understand how the whole company operates, acting as a key point of contact for any finance queries -Look at current systems and processes and make any necessary improvements -Preparing the monthly profit and loss, and balance sheet reports -Monthly review of group balance sheet reconciliations. -Responsible for the quarterly VAT group returns. -Preparation of audit schedules and answering audit queries -Liaise with external tax advisors. -Supporting transactional finance colleagues and mentoring them on a day to day basis -Be a constant support to the current FC, taking on new pieces of ad hoc work when required For more information please contact Mathew Kaye or Lucy Campbell at Sewell Wallis.
