Eden Scott's client is a multi-billion Renewable Energy business with a world-wide presence who are currently developing some very exciting Renewable Energy projects within Scotland. The business is currently at an advanced stage of beginning construction of a £2BN offshore wind-farm which will prove to be a game-changing move in the renewable energy sector. Due to the nature of these projects there is a very strong desire to recruit someone with offshore construction or engineering experience. Alternatively, candidates can have a robust onshore construction background dealing with multi-million complex projects. The key to this is someone who understands the risks, can interface strongly with project managers and demonstrate very thorough experience of these types of projects. Project Finance knowledge, Financial Control experience and delivering commercial outcomes are essential pillars of experience for success. Among other things you will be responsible for; Being the senior financial leader for the business and supporting both the Finance Director and Project Director in reporting to the Board. Managing and helping to deliver the budget, forecasts and strategic plans for the company: you will provide day-to-day commercial decision support. Managing all banking covenants, banking relationships and robust stewardship of the money involved in running this complex project. All aspects of treasury operations including financial draw-downs and reporting on actual performance against robust costing targets. Setting up and being responsible for all financial systems, controls, processes and procedures including the development of the chart of accounts. All statutory and legal entity reporting, this includes having strong relationships with external auditors and other professional advisors such as corporate tax specialists. Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the all financial statements in a timely fashion. The nature of the project is such that we need someone who can amply demonstrate experience in all the above areas. The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience; Professionally qualified accountant with at least 10 years overall experience including 5 spent in senior management and/or leadership post. A leader who is a business partner in every sense of the phrase including commercial analysis, ability to add real value and deliver strong commercial performance. Strongly experienced in reporting under international financial reporting standards such as IFRS or FRSs. Very strong communication skills in both written and verbal forms, lots of personal gravitas and the ability to bring real strength to the financial control environment. Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to understand the key financial implications of a scenario and articulate that to a non-expert audience. Demonstrably strong IT skills including complex financial systems and Excel to a very high standard. You will be able to take raw-data and make this accessible to a lay audience.
