This Bookkeeper - Temp position is being offered for a leading client in the Automotive manufacturing sector based in Milton Keynes and on an initial 3 month contract basis with the potential to extend further and go permanent should someone impress. Supporting a Financial Controller and predominantly focused on the purchase ledger operations of finance

Description

Bookkeeper - Temp duties and responsibilities;

  • Assemble, review and verify invoices and check requests
  • Flag and clarify any unusual or questionable invoice items or prices
  • Sort, code and match invoices
  • Prepare invoices for payment
  • Upload invoices into system
  • Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions
  • Coding invoices to the right accounts in ledger
  • Prepare analysis of accounts
  • Manage Purchase Orders
  • Matching and closing Purchase Orders
  • Produce Month end Purchase Order reports
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
  • Maintain supplier records
  • Correspond with suppliers and respond to enquiries
  • Produce monthly AP reports
  • Assist with month end closing
  • Provide supporting documentation for audits
  • Maintain accurate historical records
  • Maintain confidentiality of organisational information
  • Profile

    Education and Experience

  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable
  • Familiarity with Purchase Ledger codes
  • Knowledge of General Accounting procedures
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting software (such as Sage, Cloud based e.g. Xero)
  • Knowledge of Intermediate Excel
  • 1-3 years Recent Bookkeeping, Accounts Payable or General Accounting experience
