NRG is delighted to be working alongside a reputable manufacturer in the Bishop Auckland area. This is a temporary position for an expected 6 months. This is a 39.5 hour contract. Reporting into the Finance Director you will be expected to maintain the integrity of the company's financial transaction processing and ensure that the company complies with group, statutory and regulatory reporting requirements. Principal Elements Perform month end financial ledger closures and reconciliations Supervise/execute weekly and monthly payrolls Maintain the company's fixed asset register. Execute payments and ensure that cashbook records are complete and accurate. Prepare PAYE, NI, Pension, VAT, intrastat and other submissions, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Prepare and submit financial and other returns to group and corporate users Other finance and accounting duties as appropriate Job Context/ Key Challenges The position requires a methodical approach with a close attention to detail. The job holder should be a self-starter able to work without close supervision within the constraints of tight deadlines. Knowledge and Experience (Knowledge and experience needed for satisfactory performance of the job) The position requires that the job holder is professionally qualified to at least AAT level or equivalent. Extensive experience in the processing and control of financial transactions is a pre-requisite. Key attributes: The job holder must be able to demonstrate a sound grasp of financial reporting requirements, in the sense of compliance with both internal group policies and UK GAAP policies, guidelines and principles. The job requires a methodical approach with attention to detail and time management key. High degrees of numeracy and computer literacy are essential. Specific knowledge areas: The job holder must demonstrate a strong knowledge of integrated financial systems. The job holder must be able to show a sound grasp of statutory, regulatory and professional financial compliance. Qualifications (levels of requirement): AAT qualification or equivalent (minimum requirement) Progression towards a recognised accounting qualification (eg CIMA, ACCA) is desirable; Experience: A proven track record in the processing and control of financial transactions is a must.
