One Point Recruitment are currently looking to appoint a Financial Accountant on behalf of a manufacturing business based in Grimsby. The main purpose of the role is to produce financial reports. Compile, classify, record and verify all data relevant to the General Ledger, employee expenses and bank account transactions. To provide support to the MD, Finance Manager and finance team.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of the monthly Management Information pack for presentation to the Board and Bank including forecasting and variance analysis.
• Preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts and preparation of variance analysis to actuals monthly.
• Prepare VAT returns, P11D's, annual PAYE settlement agreement and Climate Change Levy calculations in a timely manner and ensure their accuracy.
• Take lead responsibility for the accurate and timely submission of Office of National Statistics requirements.
• Regular preparation of control accounts including PAYE, VAT, Pensions and Expenses.
• Prepare audit files and liaise extensively with the external financial auditors.
• Undertake re-calculation of machine cost rates on a regular basis and ensure costing systems are updated to reflect those changes.
• To ensure all relevant bank transaction are correctly and accurately recorded on the general ledger and complete regular reconciliations.
• Assist in the preparation of various financial statements and reports as required.
• Assist Finance Manager and Managing Director in producing financial information or reports when requested and deal efficiently with queries from other departments.
• Provide support to the Managing Director with ad hoc tasks as and when required.
• To have comprehensive knowledge of the weekly payroll in order to provide support as well as holiday and sickness cover to the Payroll Administrator.
• To compile, classify, record, code and post employee expense sheets
• To maintain the fixed asset register, including depreciation calculation, in accordance with the Managing Director's instructions.
• To control, balance and post petty cash on a monthly basis.
• To check purchase orders generated on a daily basis to ensure correct nominal and departmental codes have been selected.
• Ensure prepayments and accruals information are collated, recorded and posted every month to deadline date.
• Ensure Cash flow report and monthly cash flow forecast generated and maintained on an ongoing basis.
• Rebate agreements & relevant nominal accounts to be maintained and balanced.
• Authorise invoices and complete reconciliation of nominal account for international sales agent.
• Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and sharing information
• Contribute to the training of new staff in all areas of the department
• To have a good understanding and working knowledge of all other aspects of the department for holiday and sickness cover.
• To work within government and company Equal Opportunities Policy and practices and report any deviations
• To work within government and company health & safety policies and practices and report any hazards or incidences
• Work in accordance with all company environmental management requirements, taking reasonable care for the protection of the environment through your own acts/omissions and report any opportunities for improving environmental targets.
• To be flexible in undertaking duties and responsibilities and may be asked to perform other duties which reasonably correspond to the general character of the position and are commensurate with its level of responsibility
• To undertake all Hygiene and Quality responsibilities to ensure that company standards are met and surpassed Skills/Qualities:
• ACCA or CIMA Qualified/Part Qualified (or equivalent)

Salary:
