Group Accountant - Role in Group Finance (The role is located at the Group Head Office in York ) Founded in 1972 , Persimmon is today one of the UK 's leading house builders. The Group Finance department reports to the Group Finance Director with the aim to support the business with its internal and external financial and management reporting responsibilities. Description Reporting to the Senior Group Accountant the main responsibilities of the position are as follows: Preparation and review of consolidated management information, including management accounts, forecasts and budgets, that support the Group's strategic decision making; Preparation and review of statutory accounts, including Group consolidated accounts under IFRS; Oversee data collection, co-ordinating with our regional house building businesses; Undertake data interrogation analysis and reviews; Prepare and review management information for the Directors of the business. Qualifications / Experience The successful candidate will hold a recognised accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), preferably with a practical understanding of consolidations and exposure to accounts preparation within an IFRS reporting environment. You will have gained experience in dealing with escalated queries and been in a role that has challenged and influenced senior stakeholders.Experience within the Construction or House Building sector would also be an advantage but is not essential. Skills Above all the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a professional approach to the working environment, possess commercial awareness, and strong communication skills as liaison with Senior Management and Directors across the breadth of the Group's regional businesses is an important part of the role. You must also have the ability to work confidently on your own and as part of a wider team, working towards tight deadlines without compromising attention to detail.The ability to research and analyse data is fundamental and therefore you need to be well organised with strong mathematical skills and high level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel.
