Our client seeks a Financial Analyst for their team on a contract basis. MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB Responsible for financial planning and analysis in support of the business, including complete ownership of periodic forecasts, month-end procedures and performance reporting for commercial teams. Role will have ownership of select business projects. MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES Provide financial support for operations including, but is not limited to: 1) Analyze monthly financial results, including comparisons against budget forecasts; prepare reliable, timely, and accurate financial analytics. 2) Create annual plans and budgets for product sales and operational cost centers, as well as periodic forecasts to report performance to management team. 3) Provide financial analysis to support commercial and financial management decision making. 4) Lead business-related projects across the region. 5) Month-end close responsibility related to revenue and cost areas of P&L, including working with shared service center to complete accurate month end close. ACCOUNTABILITY This position requires solid accounting skills and analytical skills with the ability to identify risks and opportunities. This individual works alongside the AV Finance Manager, Region North and is a key contact for the marketing, sales and finance teams. GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES To comply with the company's policies and procedures to meet statutory, quality and business requirements within the overall strategy .Responsible for health, safety and environmental performance of themselves and others through compliance within EHS programs, regulations and standards. Subject to the policy and procedures outlined in the EHS handbook. BACKGROUND/EDUCATION Progressive Finance and Accounting experience in Audit, Commercial, Cost and/or Reporting positions. Individual must have excellent problem solving and analytical skills, as well as an ability to effectively manage workload to ensure deadlines are not missed. The individual must be highly motivated and have a desire to innovate and create new ways of looking at things. Proven critical thinking skills to identify and share business implications of financial results. Excellent communication skills are essential as this role interacts with multiple levels within the Abbott organization. Strong PC/system skills. Excel and PowerPoint expertise is a must. SAP/Hyperion preferred. Bachelor degree (or similar) in Business, Accounting or Finance is preferred, or equivalent experience.
