We are currently working with a truly Global Accountancy firm to recruit a new Semi Senior Accountant for their London office. The firm:

• The Role: Working within Business Services, 'Variety' best describes the work of this division. You could be involved in the audit of any organisation from a listed company to working with owner-managed businesses. Sole traders and partnerships don't always have the accounting infrastructure of larger companies, so they rely on their accountants for day-to-day financial advice. Their clients include natural resource companies, tech companies, professional practices and retailers. Your work could range from conducting audits at clients' premises to preparing management or statutory accounts. With every audit, you'll gain a deeper insight into each stage of the process, and a broader view of the businesses the firm work for. As your experience grows, so will your opportunities. You could, for example:
• Assist our corporate finance teams and litigation experts
• Work on an international contract via our membership of PKF International - a global family of independent accounting firms
• Work on an assignment for the European Commission. You will be expected:
• To ensure all work undertaken is carried out in accordance with the firm's procedures
• To be responsible for the day-to-day operation of each audit assignment for smaller assignments
• To provide on the job training to more junior members of the firm
• Accept responsibility for all work performed
• Attend pre-audit discussions with partner and manager
• Plan smaller audit assignments with the assistance of the audit partner and manager
• Ensure an adequate briefing is held and other members of staff are briefed in detail
• Ensure that the work undertaken on site is in accordance with the approved plan and budget
• Review the work of more junior staff on each assignment and provide feedback to them
• Hold daily team meetings to assess progress on smaller assignments
• Advise the audit manager of progress on the job and any developments that may lead to a change in strategy on a daily basis
• Suggest logical solutions to problems
• For smaller audit assignments under withdrawn supervision, complete the audit file and pass the complete file for review to the manager subject only to key points raised for the manager's attention, to include the following: o Planning o Closing o Fixed assets o Stock o Debtors & Sales o Bank o Creditors & Purchases o Tax o VAT o Provisions o Reserves o Profit and loss o Payroll o Related parties o Trial balance o Under withdrawn supervision on larger audit assignments, complete the following sections: ? Creditors section: accruals, VAT, PAYE, HP and other ? Debtors section: prepayments, accrued income and other ? Provision of contingent liabilities ? Capital and reserves ? Related parties The Candidate:
• Perhaps AAT qualified, studying or keen to start studying ACA/ACCA
• Experience of working in a general practice environment
• Comfortable in all aspects of accounts production and solid audit experience
• Bee keen to further their career in a large and extremely reputable accountancy firm Thank you for your interest.
