New role to market to cover for 12 month maternity leave creating a role for an Assistant Accountant who will report into the GL Lead. The role of Assistant Accountant is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the data posted within the UK General Ledgers and contributing to the completeness and accuracy of those sets of financial statements each month. The company is in a transitional period and under new ownership therefore the role will be variable and broad. This is a 12 month FTC role seeking an immediate start. Polish language is advantageous however not essential. Key Responsibilities Preparation & interrogation of Management Accounts and Balance Sheet Journal postings: recurring entries, cash/day books, cash payments, accruals & prepayments VAT / Tax Returns Assisting with the preparation of UK statutory accounts Audit samples / walkthroughs Contributing to short and medium-term cash forecasting Liaising with third-party outsourced finance function Liaising with all departments and the management during the decision-making processes Offering judgement and counsel on financial matters Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers Experience Required: Early / mid stages of ACCA/CIMA 1-2 years' experience in a similar role required Intermediate Microsoft Office packages experience Knowledge of 'Exact' ERP system preferred Knowledge and experience of transactional department work would be advantageous - especially in Treasury/cash or payroll Please note you will receive an automated response advising you that we have received your CV.
