Our client is a global business with easily accessible offices just outside of Huntingdon. Following changes within the business they are looking for a post-qualified (or equivalent) accountant who likes being hands on with the detail to head up the sizeable transactional team. The role will be varied and challenging but you will have the opportunity to experience immense satisfaction from improving and developing processes and procedures whilst managing a great team. Duties will include; Managing the general ledger, credit control and accounts payable teams and ensuring that month-end closes smoothly and within deadlines Working closely with key internal stakeholders, resolving issues and challenges where appropriate Influencing and developing financial controls across UK & European entities Coaching, mentoring and developing the team Reviewing and updating finance procedures as required Working closely with IT function ensuring integrity and accuracy of financial systems Maintaining relationship with bank for daily transactions Preparation of statutory accounts Reviewing reconciliations, payments runs and monitoring unapproved supplier invoices Managing workloads and resources This role requires someone with exceptional people skills and the ability to manage a sizeable team and ensure that all three teams deliver their responsibilities in good time and to a high standard. When you take on the role there will be work to do, but this role has immense potential and the successful candidate will be a key player in the long-term success and growth of the UK business. As well as being a post-qualified accountant, experience of multiple entity accounting and exposure to managing shared service teams are very important as is proven history managing a transactional team at a higher level. Whilst in the main you will be looking after the team via your managers, there will on occasion be a requirement to be hands-on in busy periods and therefore someone who is willing and happy to roll their sleeves up when appropriate is key. Advanced IT skills, notably Excel are important and experience of Dynamics AX or similar packages would be a distinct advantage.
