My client is an international humanitarian charity that works in over 50 countries. They are currently looking for a professional who has confidence, knowledge and experience in identifying, analysing and responding to the requirements of donors, regulatory bodies and laws in the UK. Responsibilities include: - Ensure the organisation has robust risk management, compliance and policy frameworks in place and that they are fully operational and effective. - Develop and maintain a framework for ensuring the charity is compliant with all legislative requirements and best practice. - Prepare briefings, presentations and reports to support and advise the Senior Management Team and Board of Trustees for a strategic and proportionate approach to compliance issues. - Monitor compliance around fundraising and other activities that involve the handling or processing of personal data, in the context of UK data protection laws and the GDPR. - Assist charity to fulfil Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), DFID, other donors and partners' due diligence requirements, potentially through developing policies, systems, training etc. - Ensure that systems are in place for effective monitoring of donor compliance within organisation, and among downstream partners, including other members of the network. - Work closely with the Finance Department and grant managers in the Operations Department to ensure appropriate due diligence and donor compliance mechanisms are in place and functioning effectively. The successful candidate will be degree educated and have extensive experience in the above duties. They will have a good understanding of the GDPR, Fundraising Regulator Code and other relevant regulation around fundraising and handling of supporter data. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a broad and vital role that will influence senior management, improve processes and guide company culture moving forward.
